Panettone

So it's finally December! The month of gingerbreads, christmas trees, cakes and bells, and million other things.

To be honest, the preparations are the most exciting to me, so these two weeks before Christmas are the most beautiful time of the year.

As I said earlier, you can feel the smell of gingerbreads in the air, but have you ever tried Panettone? Or maybe: have you ever HEARD about Panettone and its legend?

If you haven't, just listen:

The whole story takes place in sixteenth-century Italy and tells about a poor boy - Toni, who is in love with a beautiful Italian woman. Unfortunately, because of the poverty, the girl's parents do not consent to their marriage.
The girl's father was the owner of the bakery, which, however, does not bring profits.
To help the family and get into his father, Toni came up with the idea of adding butter, sugar and eggs to bread. The idea turned out to be a hit! In addition to the aforementioned ingredients, lemon and raisins have been added, and the cake was so good that everyone wanted to eat it.
Thanks to the boy's idea, the family no longer had financial problems, and the couple's love had already been allowed.
The couple lived happily ever after and richly because, so-called "Pan di Toni" (Toni's bread), or today's Panettone, has since become a Christmas bestseller and Christmas symbol on Italian tables throughout the country.

  1. I didn't know that! That's a cool story. I really hate cheescake with rasins, but I guess I'd try this one, because it looks great.
