November
Hi, everybody!
As you well know, two days ago we celebrated a very important ceremony in Poland, i.e. the holiday of regaining independence. On this day in many places in our country parades, marches, concerts and numerous speeches were held, to commemorate the people who died, so that today we could enjoy freedom.
I have been a happy resident of Poznań for several years now, so I associate November 11th with another celebration: the name day of Saint Martin Street, reminding us of the patron saint of children, blacksmiths or horsemen (and many, many, many others...), Martin of Tours - the bishop.
On November 11th, "Martin", chosen by the casting, goes through a colourful procession through a street named after him, and then receives the keys to the city from the Mayor of Poznań.
Moreover, according to tradition, this is the day when everyone eats goose meat and rogale świętomarcińskie, watching a wonderful and unforgettable parade.
Have you ever seen this parade? Did you like it?
